The Dance of Connection
Join us for a free, public pop-up Milonga. We begin at 6:30 PM. If you’ve never danced before, we’ll take a section of the dance space to offer a 20-minute Beginner Intro Class right at the start to get you walking. Otherwise, jump straight into the music and the embrace. We will be dancing on the paved central ronda of the garden, surrounded by the park’s unique sculptures and the greenery of early spring.
Argentine Tango
This evening is dedicated exclusively to the music and culture of Argentine Tango. All levels are welcome to participate or simply watch the dancers and listen to the music as the sun sets over Riverfront Park. Music will have a special-event organization with no cortinas and songs grouped in pairs to encourage a quicker turnover between partners. Grant Shipley will be rolling in his sound system so we can fill the air with music!

About the Space
The Sister Cities Connections Garden is a space to honor and celebrate the importance of our Sister Cities through nature and art. It’s placed at the site of the former Japanese Pavilion at the Expo ’74 World’s Fair. The garden has blue-green curbed pathways, symbolizing connections of each of the rivers of our Sister Cities to the oceans of the world.
